2021 Updates Coming Soon! Prescription for Health is a program where health care providers can prescribe FREE fruits and vegetables to their patients! 2020 will be the third year for this exciting program and it is expanding. Participants receive 6 free nutrition education classes, transportation is provided to those who need it, the cost of lab work not covered by insurance is provided by the program, and there is an opportunity for free exercise instruction during the winter months.

SHOPPERS - Would you like to learn more about an innovative program called Prescription for Health, where you can receive up to $120 in fruits and vegetables from the local farmers market? We are seeking participants for the summer of 2020 who would be willing to visit the farmers market to shop for fresh fruits and vegetables and learn about nutrition and reducing the risk of chronic disease.There is no cost for enrolling in the program, but there are certain criteria for being eligible to participate. Participating farmers markets include St Louis Farmers Market and the Mt Pleasant Farmers Market. This opportunity is made possible through the generous support of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) Foundation.
