The St. Louis Farmers Market's response to COVID-19 (4/22/2020)
Farmers Markets have been deemed by the State of Michigan to be critical infrastructure that can remain open during this time. They must modify operations in order to to support the safety of their customers, market staff, and vendors. The St. Louis Farmers Market will be modifying operations in accordance with the COVID-19 Resources published by the Michigan Farmers Market Association, the Mid-Michigan District Health Department resources for Business/Employers, and MDARD COVID-19 Information for Food and Agriculture Industry.
At this time our opening day is scheduled for Thursday, June 4th, 2020.

Mission

The mission of the St. Louis Farmers Market is to create a diverse and thriving market place for local farmers and crafters to sell their goods. We strive to help local businesses & entrepreneurs through promotion and partnerships; to increase community access to healthy foods; to promote healthy activities; and to be a positive and fun place in the community that customers enjoy visiting again and again.

About St. Louis Farmers Market

The St. Louis Farmers Market was formed in partnership with the St. Louis Middle of the Mitten Association and the Gratiot Area Chamber of Commerce. Linda Bader, a MIFMA Certified Market Manager, will run the market along with help from an Advisory Committee made up of St. Louis community and business leaders.  All involved are committed to creating a successful and sustainable market.
We are an outdoor, seasonal market that features fresh produce, flowers, plants, baked goods, unique handmade craft items, meat, honey and more.  The market is located in downtown St. Louis Michigan outside the beautiful new City Hall Building at 300 North Mill Street.  This location offers plenty of parking and easy access to downtown shops and restaurants.
We strive to partner with other community groups who share our mission.  This includes local non-profit groups, service clubs, the schools, human services, healthcare, and transportation services.
To keep the atmosphere fun and positive we also offer space for local musicians to perform at the market, along with events or activities that promote healthy living.

Promotion Grant Assistance

This project is supported by the Regional Prosperity Initiative 2018 Mini-Grant Program, administered by East Michigan Council of Governments, a federally designated development district for the 14 counties of East Central Michigan.
